September is National Disaster Preparedness Month and the Crossroads Chapter of the American Red Cross urges area residents to be among the 7 percent of Americans who have taken the necessary steps to be prepared.
The Red Cross is using National Preparedness Month to remind families to Be Red Cross Ready - get a kit, make a plan and be informed. One way the American Red Cross has made it easier for families to get prepared is by offering a variety of first aid, health, safety and emergency preparedness items.
Also, donations to Disaster Relief can help those who were not prepared and need assistance.
The public is invited to take a free online education module available at www.redcross.org/BeRedCrossReady. For more information, contact the Crossroads Chapter of the American Red Cross at 361-573-2671.
