The Victoria Public Library will present New York Times best-selling author Linda Castillo for a book signing and discussion Oct. 2 of her Amish crime thriller series.
Castillo's most recent book is "Pray for Silence," set in the quiet town of Painters Mill, where an Amish family is found slaughtered on their farm, according to a news release. Kate Burkholder and her small police force have few clues, no motive and no suspect. Enter state agent John Tomasseti who arrives on the scene to assist.
He and Kate worked together on a previous case, and they're still setting the limits of a complex, difficult relationship. They soon realize that the disturbing details of this case will push those boundaries to the breaking point.
Castillo is the recipient of numerous writing awards, including the Daphne du Maurier Award of Excellence and the Holt Medallion. She lives in Texas with her husband and is working on her next thriller, which is also set in Amish Country.
