The Golden Gecko in downtown Victoria will be extending its hours and changing up the pace to try to gain more popularity.
The social club has had trouble getting business and this is one of its ways to push for customers, said Vance Redden, the Golden Gecko's general manager.
"It's going to be something special," he said. "We're deciding to go all out."
The Golden Gecko wants to host events that are going to attract people downtown. Recently, the business has held comedy shows to try to attract more people not only to its business, but also into downtown, Redden said.
On Saturday, the Golden Gecko will have a steak night and a feature performer at the grand piano with some live music and a disc jockey. Wine tasting will also be available, Redden said.
Before, the Golden Gecko was only open three times a week, but it will now be open from from 3:30 p.m. to 1 a.m. Monday through Saturday, Redden said.
"There's a lot of change," he said.
