Thumbs-up, thumbs-down; it's your choice
Thumbs-up to banning pit bulls through breed-specific legislation. This is one way of banning these dogs and making it official. Pit bulls are banned from entering Germany, especially going into American military bases. These dogs are mostly kept for intimidation and protection, and one of the reasons they are not spayed and neutered but chained and not fenced is to be aggressive; chained 24/7 does just that, they will bite.
A big thumbs-up to the Kiwanis Club and the many volunteers who put on the third annual Riverside Bike Ride this past weekend. More than 150 riders enjoyed a great day. Hopefully, the ride in 2012 will be an even bigger success.
Thumbs-down to whomever owns the condemned-looking house that is an eyesore and snake haven right next to the Nursery Elementary School. Something needs to be done about that thing! Shame on you.
Thumbs-down for hiding East High Soccer achievements deep in the sports, yet West gets front page. Let's be fair.
Thumbs-down to whom ever vandalized the new pavilion and back playground at the Nursery Elementary School. Friends and families of the school have put a lot of time and money into making our school a great place for our children to play and learn, and to do such a thing is low and heartless! Remember, what goes around comes around, and you WILL BE CAUGHT!
