Christina Carlisle couldn't pass up photographing a blue passion flower blooming in her grandmother's yard in Inez. They usually find one bloom a year on the vine-like plant. Carlisle said she thought the photo was fitting because the center is believed to symbolize the Crucifixion of Jesus, and it was blooming during the Easter season. The photo, titled "Poignant Petals" won our wildflower photo contest. Carlisle won two free movie passes. Carlisle entered several photos of wildflowers blooming either on her land or her grandmother Rosalle Carroll's land, both in Inez.
