  • The city council had previously suspended the effective date of the proposed rate increase for 90 days.
The practice is only till the "CenterPoint Energy" can come up with a better "lucrative offer" for our City Council.

  • I wonder if the appraisal district will follow the town's council denial of a rate increase and do the same for property taxes. By the way, the appraisal district is quick to tell you that they do NOT tax you which is true, but they set the value of the property to be taxed. In essence the appraisal district is doing the taxing entities a great favor when it sets higher rates for properties.

  • Well, I am not in favor of a rate hike and not sure why the city is in the middle of this decision making. Get ready folks. Its called the sliding of the hand or city council making decisions. It appears that we may get is two plans. You can get the "basic" (limited gas which may be half of what you get now at the same price or the "gas plan" which allows you to use more at a higher rate.

Does anyone remember the old cable TV scam?
