In honor of Easter, a community-wide Palm Sunday service will be held at the Bauer Center of Port Lavaca Sunday, April 17.
Sponsored by the Calhoun County Ministerial Alliance, the service will include special guest speaker and nationally acclaimed Christian singer Jon Sheptock.
Sheptock, who was born without arms and one leg shorter than the other, was given up for adoption at birth and adopted by a Christian family when he was an infant. Now married with three daughters, Sheptock travels the globe preaching about God's strength and discussing how he uses his handicap to overcome adversity and challenge, a news release stated.
The Palm Sunday service begins at 7 p.m. and is open to the public. There is no cost to attend.
