A motorcyclist was taken to Citizens Medical Center after losing control of his bike and wrecking into a tree in front of Victoria Fire Station No. 5, 9508 Zac Lentz Parkway, about 8:45 p.m. Saturday.

It's unclear if the driver was on the highway or frontage road, but he appeared to lose control about 150 feet before striking the tree, said Victoria Fire Department Battalion Chief Roger Hempel.

No other vehicles were involved, he said.
