Homer barrage leads UHV to sweep of LSU-Alexandria

UHV softball takes two from LSU Alexandria
ALEXANDRIA, La. - The No. 12-ranked University of Houston-Victoria softball team swept a doubleheader Saturday from LSU-Alexendria.
The offense powered the Jaguars to a 15-2 win in game 1 with four homers.
Kellie King led the power barrage with two - her first of the year, Tara Williams added one and speedster Bre'Neka "Shorty" O'Bryant hit an inside-the-park homer.
The Jaguars pounded out 21 hits.
Emily Bergstrom got the win for UHV, her team-leading 13th, pitching three innings and allowing only one hit. Freshman Megan Carter finished the game, pitching two innings, giving up three hits and two runs.
Baylea Wagener picked up the win in game 2, a 11-5 victory for the Jaguars.
Wagener pitched 5 2/3 innings, giving up nine hits and four earned runs. Dawn Villegas pitched 1 1/3 innings to finish the game.
UHV had 15 more hits in the second game.
The Jaguars improved to 26-12 and will play Huston-Tillotson in Austin on Tuesday.
