  • DID YOU KNOW?

Burger Nation will soon open at 3112 N. Navarro St., Suite A. Management plans to hire about 10 employees. Applications will soon be available on-site.

Beef eaters take note: A new burger is headed to town.

Burger Nation opens in mid-May at 3112 N. Navarro St., Suite A.

Once open, the 2,000-square-foot eatery will offer fully customizable hamburgers, wings, milkshakes and more, said Tony Mistry, who co-owns the eatery with his brother, Mike Mistry, both of Victoria. Turkey and veggie burgers will also come into play.

The goal is to offer all fresh ingredients, including handmade burger patties, Tony Mistry said, explaining many Victoria burger restaurants have frozen patties.

"Our motto is FNF," Tony Mistry said. "Fresh, never frozen."

Beer will also join the mix, but the company is in the process of obtaining a permit from the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission.

Burger Nation will employ about 10 people. Applications will soon be available on-site.

Management plans to have an online presence, Tony Mistry said, explaining a Facebook page will offer special offers to those who "like" the business.

The eatery might look like a quick-serve restaurant, but it offers a more casual dining experience, said Jesse Rojas, who will manage the restaurant.

He said he hopes to see Crossroads residents embrace the eatery's fresh ingredients, and note the differences between them and the larger chain restaurants.

"We're going to be a billion times better than 'a billion served,'" he said.

  • Best of luck to them. Unfortunately, this is a pretty bad location especially with the parking situation.

  • @parkpork
I stand corrected, I believe the proper term used by the VA was "business venture" regarding the "Historic water pumping station restaurant"
    thanks

  • I noticed that hte Chinese Buffet in the old CiCis Pizza location is a goner. Guess the Mingolian palce got them. The buffet nect to the old Lack's warehouse is looking like they will open, though.
The new burger place is right around the corner from us! BAD/GOOD

  • I'm looking forward to their opening. I believe a good hamburger is nature's perfect food. I would like to see an option of something other than french fries to go along with the burgers. Potato salad and baked beans are great with a burger -- makes it seem like a picnic. I'd also hope that chips of various types will be available.

  • I will try it. Hope they have a bigg burger for a biggun like me. Any place you can get a good 1 patty 1 pound burger here? I liked KBs, behind Toms Vacuum, by the time I had my second burger there, it closed. A burger place like you see on Diners Drive Ins and Dives would be nice.

  • So I guess I will avoid this portion of Navarro for a month or so after this joint opens up.
If you recall, Victorians are famous for stampeding to new burger joints and lining up 50 cars deep at the drive-through window and creating traffic chaos.
Remember the return of Wendy's and Burger King?
I guess it's just who we are.

  • @kash...
Seeing how Burger Nation did not want to go in cahoots (business venture) with the city council, they were denied this "special privileges". Therefore with no parking slots, only drive by service will be provided..
If the food is that good, people will come...good luck...

  • We need another burger joint like Kenny Rogers needs another face lift.

Looking forward to the Grand opening. I feel sure this will be a regular haunt for this geeky burger lover.

  • Why are Victorians always so negative towards anything that happens?

    April 14, 2011 at 9:23 a.m.
  • Victorians will surely APPRECIATE a fresh, never frozen made BURGER! I will definitely patronize this place. Can't wait!

We have enough Chinese buffets in Town...In with the new!

    April 14, 2011 at 9:07 a.m.
  • I wish this new venture lots of luck and am looking forward to patronizing them. If someone was commenting on enough Chinese restaurants in town, I would agree...but, a burger place with fresh, never frozen patties...and beer...looking forward to it!

    April 14, 2011 at 8:53 a.m.
  • Location seems fine to me. 9 times outta 10 comments on here are negative, cheer up people!!

    April 14, 2011 at 8:28 a.m.
  • This place will never make it. Poor location. Looks like another low budget eatery.

    April 14, 2011 at 7:33 a.m.
  • Just what we need...............another burger joint. enough is enough. I give them one year and they will be out of business due to location and parking. But I do wish them all the luck in the world that they will succeed!

    April 14, 2011 at 4:04 a.m.
  • Where is Chicken Continent when you need it?

    April 13, 2011 at 10:34 p.m.

  • Here's a tag line for you: "A billion times better than a billion served.". I hope you're better than McDonalds!!!

    April 13, 2011 at 8:24 p.m.
  • I can't resist--So how much did the city contribute for the parking lot? Cause hundreds of people use and park Navarro businesses daily.
