SUV crashes into Dairy Treet
Dairy Treet continues to function, despite an accident where an SUV drove into the side of the building.
Burgers continued to sizzle on the grill as usual at Dairy Treet as police investigated a vehicle that struck the restaurant Friday night.
The driver, a woman in her 20s from Victoria who police did not identify, was driving north on Laurent Street about 8:30 p.m. when her foot became stuck on the gas pedal from a possible seizure, said Victoria Police Officer Gilbert Cantu.
The woman was attempting to turn onto Crestwood Drive and crashed into the corner of the restaurant, knocking out several bricks.
The woman was transported to DeTar Hospital Navarro for the medical condition, Cantu said.
Two passengers in the white Isuzu sport utility vehicle were treated at the scene.
A building inspector verified the building had minimal damage and was still structurally sound, Cantu said.
Restaurant employees declined to comment.
