Funeral services have been set for the 16-year-old girl who was killed in a car accident Sunday on U.S. Highway 183 at Old Goliad Road.
Megan Nicole Daughtrey, a former Victoria West High School student, was on Old Goliad Road and pulled out in front of a truck driven by 46-year-old Vehbi Erdagi, of Ingleside, who was traveling south on the highway about 12:15 p.m. Sunday, said Trooper Gerald Bryant, public information officer for the Texas Department of Public Safety.
Megan was taken to DeTar Hospital Navarro, where she was pronounced dead at 1:53 p.m., Bryant said.
She was wearing her seatbelt.
Megan had recently withdrawn from Victoria West High School, said Diane Boyett, district communication specialist.
Megan's Facebook page also lists Goliad High School under her education information.
Erdagi was not injured, Bryant said.
