  • I think there is something missing in this piece. Do not overlook the fact The Shawshank Redemption was a Best Picture nominee in 1994. That honor really garnished its notoriety and contributed to it being revered and now beloved by the general population.

The movies mentioned in the article are somewhat obscure in comparison. Mind you, I loved The Illusionist, but it was not better than The Prestige, and I was impressed with Let the Right One In, which was way better than the "Americanized" version.

I think it would be better to reference movies like Quiz Show, Little Miss Sunshine or Juno: movies that were highly-regarded, but just didn't make it big in the box office.

  • This is an amazing story and we have made notes of three of the mentioned movies to watch. You need to publish more stories like this one in the future~!
BTW... The Room! HA! Saw it and I have to say, everyone needs to watch this one at least once in their lifetime.

  • Who saw Avalon?

Stellar cast. Oscar nom for Best Picture....same year as Dances With Wolves. Nobody noticed. One of my favorite pictures of all time. Catch it on Netflix.
