A collision in the 6400 block of North Navarro Street caused a rollover and heavy damage to two vehicles, but ended with no serious injuries Saturday afternoon.
Olivia Garza, 19, of Bloomington, was driving a 2005 Mazda 6 north on Navarro in the outside lane, when Janie Lopez, 30, of Corpus Christi, pulled out from a business' driveway, according to Victoria Police Officer Jef Strauss. The 2008 Dodge Avenger Lopez was driving clipped Garza, causing the Mazda to roll over onto its left side.
Garza was transported to Citizens Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries and was later released, according to Strauss.
"Both vehicles were heavily damaged," Strauss said. "When I got there, it looked as if it would be really bad."
Neither Lopez nor a 6-year-old in the car with her was injured. Both Garza and Lopez were wearing their seatbelts, and the child was in a car seat.
Lopez was found at fault and issued a citation for failure to yield the right-of-way from a private drive, Strauss said.
