Financial assistance is available to energy-conscious agriculturists, and one group is getting word out to the Crossroads.
USDA Rural Development will host a renewable energy and energy efficiency workshop Thursday at Gonzales' JB Wells Show Barn.
The free event, which is open to the public, offers information on the Rural Energy for America Program, its application process and the like.
The program offers financial assistance for those who purchase renewable energy systems or who make energy efficiency improvements. Agricultural producers who receive at least 50 percent of their gross income from agricultural and rural small businesses are eligible.
The event lasts from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and includes lunch.
