Crain Elementary School was vandalized between Monday evening and Tuesday morning, according to Victoria Independent School District. The school was unoccupied at the time because of renovations.

Diane Boyett, director of communications of VISD, said the vandalism amounted to senseless destruction.

"There's nothing to steal. It was a vicious act of vandalism."

The vandalism occurred in the library section. Fortunately, Boyett said, no books were in the room.

No arrests have been made. An investigation is ongoing.
