Aug. 6, 2011 at 3:06 a.m.

Dionne Loughman, assessment and accountability coordinator for the Victoria school district, will serve as District 3 president for the Texas Elementary Principals and Supervisors Association.

Officers from the 20 TEPSA districts across the state were installed at the association's Leadership Conference in July.

"District officers play a vital role in communicating TEPSA's mission at the local level. They are committed to serving Texas Pre-K through (eighth-grade) educators and students," said Executive Director Sandi Borden.

Loughman's career in education spans 17 years. She is a former TEPSA Assistant Principal of the Year for District 3.

Since 1917, TEPSA has served Texas principals and supervisors. The group has more than 5,800 members. These administrators supervise more than 150,000 teachers who direct the activities of more than 2.4 million Pre-kindergarten through eighth-grade school children.
