  • It would be important to report why the increase is needed. Is VISD cutting class size and hiring more staff, of which should be the only reason for a tax increase. In my opinion.

  • cobraden: The tax rate remains the same. VISD did not increase the rate. The increase you find is because property values have increased. 10% of $100,000 is less than 10% of $150,000. The rate is the same. There is no "tax increase."

    Well said. The appraisal distrist has said to me, " We dont care if they can afford the property, its what are they willing to pay." And they base our taxes on that.

  • Beautiful and pathetic all at the same time. VISD and the appraisal district forever playing with the tax paying citizens of this town. If VISD does not support bullying in the schools, why is it okay to bully citizens with their never ending tax increases that they obtain through the appraisal district?
