Yoakum police investigating drive-by shootings

Yoakum Police are investigating separate drive-by shootings that struck two houses on consecutive days.

On Aug. 6 at 1:56 p.m., 20 shots from two different weapons were fired in the 700 block of Migl Street, striking a house multiple times, said Lee Campbell, Yoakum Police Department investigator.

No one was injured inside the home.

On Aug. 7 at 1:39 a.m. shots were fired in the 400 block of Armstrong Street striking a residence where two children were sleeping. No one was injured.

No motive has been established for the shootings, but they are believed to be connected, said Campbell.
