This airport will never be self-sufficient and should be shut down.
How do you urge the airport to move toward self-sufficiency when you can't stop the passengers if they don't come?
The CAT plant has been under construction for several weeks now, the University has been in expansion mode for a couple of years now, and the Eagle Ford development is well into its second year too. And yet, none of these major events has resulted in increased passenger count. Year over year numbers are down for passenger embarkments to date as compared to last year.
Maybe, just maybe, a town our size does not need a big commercial airport.
