Polka Lovers Klub of America Awards Scholarships

The Polka Lovers Klub of America, Texas Chapter I, recently awarded $500 scholarships to Brittany Wiltshire, of Austin, and Takona Tipton, of Flatonia. Brittany is the daughter of Brent and Stacy Wiltshire, of Austin, and was sponsored by her grandparents, Joyce and Willie Bohuslav, of Austin. Takona is the daughter of Tommy and Pam Tipton, of Flatonia, and was sponsored by her grandmother, Earline Okruhlik, of Richmond, and her grandfather, the late Ernest Okruhlik. Brittany will attend Texas Tech University, while Takona will attend Texas A&M University. The Po.L.K. of A. is a charitable organization whose charter is to carry out the heritage of music and dance by spreading friendship, goodwill and the love of polka music. Polka lovers in this 650-members-strong organization are spread throughout South/Central Texas.
