  • As a percentage of Gross Domestic Product, taxes are at a 50 year historic low. I think the problem is not that taxes are too high, but that they affect the poor and middle class disproportionately. While poor people do not pay income tax, they still pay social security, medicare, sales tax, excise tax and property tax. I applaud Warren Buffett for his courage in speaking out on this issue.
