The following questions were adapted from a 2009, ninth grade math TAKS test.

Questions

1. Maria is mowing lawns to earn money. She charges $25 to mow each lawn. She spends about $2 on gas to mow each lawn. How many lawns must Maria mow to earn at least $200?

2. A light company randomly tests the lights it makes. The company randomly tested 105 lights. Seven of the lights did not work. Based on this information, which is the best prediction of the number of lights that will not work if the company makes 8500 lights?

3. What expression is equivalent to 7(-3n + 5) + 4(6n)?
