  • just goes to show ya.....our troopers are doing a fine job. Every little bit helps in the war on drugs. Now if we could just get some of those junkers of the road being towed to the border. I'm sure they all have current paperwork, because you never see them pulled over. Wait a minute...thats the ticket. Just get them guys to transport your drugs.

  • Hey siub
You remind me of a state trooper I used to know. Dedicated for freedom. I salute you and that's not a joke

  • I'm just wondering how people have an attorney's phone # on them. I would have to fumble thru a phone book that nobody wants any more. O! well guess I'll have to get a smart phone.

  • moneyman,
I'm a guy with 20+ tickets to my credit. You name it, I probably have a ticket for it. 6 of the last 7 times I've been pulled over it was for silly little reasons that I just laughed at.

Funny thing here is that I'm white!!!

So take your whining "DWH" story and try to sell it somewhere else. We ain't buying.

Sadly your pitiful post will probably remain here because it tells another sad (fictional) tale of the plite of the poor downtrodden hispanic. Mine will probably be removed because it tells the truth.

  • Police State? Really? There may be a few poeple that should require a little more attention from what we see in these posts.

  • first for hwy111: once again if you have nothing to hide then....and you're damn right i want to feel safe and doing what i suggested is not losing your freedom. stay in your closet and let the judges, courts etc. take care of everything for you. i'm only mentioning these 2 names because of all the publicity: O.J. Simpson and Casey Anthony. there's you justice system at it's best. Now for moneyman: another one playing the race card. with all the illegals here, i don't have any sympathy for you. for the last time, if you have nothing to hide...

  • Hell everyone knows that the DPS follows the "DWH law" for those that do not know what that rule is let me clue you in It is Driving While Hispanic. I have been pulled over and the reasons for such blew my mind one was that I was driving half on the shoulder and half on the road. I was not pulled over until the Officer pulled along side me took a look at me and boom pulled up behind me and put on the lights and pulled me over. After hearing her reason for the stop I told her why I thought she pulled me over which lead to giving my consent to have my vehicle searched in which I replied I do not have anything to hide but give me a moment let me call my attorney and see what he says. Well to make a long story short there was no search I was given a warning for something I wasn't guilty off and was rudely sent on my way.

  • Hmm ! countrychic. Here I was thinking that in the USA, I could drive down the road without being stopped at a road block and having to prove I'm innocent, regardless of whether I have something to hide or not. Silly me, I thought that's why we had Court's, Judges and Lawyers ! I don't like your idea of what America should be like, that we should all be sheep and be herded in whatever direction the powers that be want us to go, just so you can feel " safe ". Yeah ! Freedom ain't free, that's why I don't want to give it up !

    August 31, 2011 at 7:02 p.m.
  • don't know if this was done everywhere, but years ago in my area the local police did random stops to see if people were insured. That should be done now on all major highways to check vehicles for drugs. I know I'm gonna hear from a lot of people saying this violates rights, a major inconvenience, etc, etc. . I don't care. If this would stop some drug trafficking, go for it. If you don't have anything to hide then you shouldn't worry about being stopped or the inconvenience it may cause.

How?If you knew a person was doing something illegal? Why not kick down that door? If a person was being held against their will, (if you knew) are you going to wait for a search warrant? Beside's they (DPS) received VERBAL CONSENT!

    GOP
    Please...... WAH i have rights.

    August 31, 2011 at 9:07 a.m.
  • The Police were doing their civic duty to get that dirt mexican weed off the streets.
With the medical legalization of marijuana in colorado and california has proven that a better crop could be grown with better quality control and higher thc levels.

  • 'There are distinct verbal and nonverbal behaviors with standard meanings that are as clear as day.'

the locals must be pretty damn good to pick up on these while the car is driving by doing 70

  • watch those hands and feet. they too are clear giveaways.

    August 30, 2011 at 6:02 p.m.
  • There are distinct verbal and nonverbal behaviors with standard meanings that are as clear as day. As sad as it sounds ,there are no secretes in life. A good analyst, after talking with you for 5 min. can tell everything that has happen to you and exactly what your life will become. The science of behavior has become concrete since the 70 and 80's. The movement of your eyes, brows, lips, cheaks, head all tell something about what you are saying. lies are the easiest thing to see. Sometimes it's not what you say but how you say it.

  • the family that smuggles together, stays together

'indicators of criminal activity' >>> I stopped driving on 59 when coming back into town. being a young hispanic male i'm a prime target for the local yocal pd/sd/dps.

    August 30, 2011 at 5:54 p.m.
  • It sounds to me that "indicators of criminal activity" isnt PC, but just that, an "indicator". That probably one of the reasons he asked for consent. And why would they tell you the exact indicators, that teaches the bad guys what NOT to do. Just my 2 pennies

    August 30, 2011 at 5:06 p.m.
  • I love the "indicators of criminal activity" that gets used as probable cause in these stops. It's in every instance. Cracks me up.
