  • Lawyers spend a good chunk of their lives in training for their profession, from law school, to bar exam, to mandatory continuing legal education training. They have a right to earn money.

    What next? Doctors need to reform their fees? Postal workers? Airline pilots? What about Cuero oil barrons? Do we need to reform the cost of gasoline?

    Private Jiggler needs to move to Russia for a while to appreciate the wonderful legal system in place there before commenting on ours. He might also want to tell us how he knows the details of the settlement, including the attorney's fee component.

  • So the family that lost a loved one and his earning potential will be lucky to see half of that amount while the lawyers who are alive and continue to earn a living will add to their fortunes by taking about half in fees.

    We need legal fee reform not tort reform.
