You have one ballot, just like I do. It is neither white or black. Yes I understand the issues, but it remains my vote - regardless of district.
I have no interest in argument- like a broken record, I repeat "My comments are solely my opinion/beliefs. Nothing more-Nothing less."
I never asked you to consider them as right, or to reconsider your opinion.
Have a good day-
First of all it is Writein, not Written.
Don't try to educated me, when I already know most of his writings. So don't treat me as I'm stupid. Talking to me as such only serves to do anyone no good. If you and others keep on throwing up these naive view points than expect a such reaction. You can not have it both ways. You accuse me of continuing to draw conclusion without investigation, but yet you made an overly generalize statement “By creating an illusion that anything that occurs is adverse to their race - if the occurrence is not favorable to their feelings/opinion”
Now come on now……You can’t have it both ways. Now you can see why I questioned and blast you on this? I have yet to hear anyone besides RobertX to question who started this in the first place. People like Tom Delay, Rick Perry, and others who shape districts to keep their hold on power. So I have to ask…where are you on this? This is really about keeping the GOOD OLE BOYS network in power. I strongly consider the court decision as a key to break the back of the network.
If you want me to respect your opinion (which I do), then don’t make generalizing statements when they are some legit claims that need to be address.
I say this to you with all due respect.

Written-In the end, I thank you Dr. Written for your diagnosis of my problem. A common practice is to obtain a second opinion: the path I chose today.
The world has injustice? Wow, you think I didn't know? I'll break the news to you, that has been going on for many, many centuries all over the world.
I assume by "economical injustice", you actually mean economic injustice?
A wonderful man named Martin Luther King once made a speech titled "I have a dream today". As such; yes I do live in a dreamy world. Perhaps you should read some of his works; it may enlighten you into understanding my thoughts.I would never expect you to agree, but understanding might be useful.
Kindly recognize my comments solely state my beliefs and opinion. Once again: no more - no less. You know precious little of what I have witness and endured in my life, but you continue to draw conclusion without investigation. That Sir, is contempt.
Once I can ascertain what your opinion is, I will respect it. I ask for the same consideration.
One’s success and failures are that person’s alone, however that DOES NOT CHANGE THE FACT that are political and economical injustice. Injustice isn’t some stupid illusion That is cheap and stupid COP OUT !!!!. You and others are in this dreamy world mindset. You don’t see things wrong, but there are others who do. I wish that you, DaveC, and others would get up and put yourself in the shoes of others. I doubt you would because it’ll show you the bitter truth. I do not feel sorry for anyone including my race, but I do feel sorry for people who hold their nose in the air and refuse to acknowledge wrongs today. That is your problem.
ohh for the days of the criminal tom delay slicing up the state as he see fits
Redistricting is related to the confederate flag license plate thread... in a strange twist of fate.
The voting rights act of 1965 article 5 only requires pre-clearance originally from 11 states by the justice dept. as far as redistricting goes, some are not under the rule anymore, the 11 states that had to comply with article 5 are guess which?
The 11 states that seceded during the civil war. Now some states by changing the way districts are drawn are exempt and a few other states have been added Alaska and Arizona that I know of.
That D@mn old civil war, it's effect has lasted for years, and even affected Mrs. Morrisons decision not to run again...unless scotus re instates district 30... then she might..gulp.. decide to run again.
Thank you for saying that.
Davec, Come on man, it is the COURTS that made it RACIAL. The ruling was that the new map did not represent the minorities in the district.Hispanic voters were not given a fairportion of the voting block according to the SUPREME COURT. Thats why I said WHITE. I am WHITE. Actually German/bohonk, I would call that White!
Davec-I agree- it certainly gets old. Seemingly the ones that feel they are held in "racial despair" are the only ones preaching it. By creating an illusion that anything that occurs is adverse to their race - if the occurrence is not favorable to their feelings/opinion. Get over it people- you are not black or white, you are American. Nothing more, nothing less.
Quit throwing up the festering blockage that makes you feel sorry for your race. Get on with life- it is a wonderful thing.
If things are not peachy in your world- look within- not outward- for solution.
Before you preach about double standard, you should know this area is govern by it. Plus you support it.
Why must people bring racial issues into every political discussion? Will emphasized "white" in his criticisms of those he disagrees with. If someone, who is "white," highlighted any other demographic while making a political criticism, they would simply be dismissed as a bigot. Some people shamelessly embrace this double standard.
"It is unfortunate that, as fall out from the federal overreach into state matters, we may not have a Victorian to represent us in the state house"
Is this guy Cloud for real. He represents the Republican Party in this area and the Dems can't point out how unpatriotic this man is by saying that the courts of the land of the free overreach? What he means is it is too bad that there is a Constitution (the thing all RRW's preach to know by heart) stopping the special interest and keeping the land represented by the people, not the select few wealthy white old men screwing us out of house and home.
If he doesn't like America, then get the heck out!!!!
Since I am a Liberal Democrat, whomever wins the election won't represent me anyway, this story was only interesting in the abstract.Patrick Barnes
