Trends: Steers and heifers, steady.

Steers - (200-300) $120-$195; (300-400) $118-$196; (400-500) $117-$173; (500-600) $111-$142; (600-700) $107-$133; and (700-800) $89-$109.

Heifers - (200-300) $120-$180; (300-400) $114-$172; (400-500) $114-$152; (500-600) $107-$138; (600-700) $104-$125; and (700-800) $84-$106.

Slaughter cows: $25-$63; slaughter bulls, $50-$79; stocker cows, $40-$78; bred cows, $450-$680; pairs, $500-$800; horses, $50-$95.

Last sale of year will be Dec. 16.

First sale of new year will be Jan. 6.

CUERO

Dec. 9

Receipts: 2,518

Had 436 cows and 27 bulls. Bulls and cows were $3.50 to $4 higher than two weeks ago.

Packer bulls: Heavy weights, $68-$79.50, lower grades $65-$73, canners $41.50-$65; two stockers $84-$86.

Packer cows: Boning cows, $65-$74.50; cutters, $42.50-$66; few $67-$73; low yielding cutters, $39-$49; canners, $30-$42.

Dry cows: $42-$65.50; young: $45.50-$86.

Palpated much higher but better quality: Big deal: $98. Eight at $127. Four at $115. Deals at $80-$92. One deal dollared out at $1,467 per head.

The calf market was again active with last week's highs as all classes were at least as high as last week's huge increase in all prices.

Steer calves (250-300) $141-$200; bull calves (300-350) $124-$200; (350-400) $141-$192; (400-450-) $122-$185; (450-500) $139-$171; (500-600) $105-$161; (600-700) $119-$130.

Packer cows - Good lean utility and commercial, $43-$52; cutters, $58-$69; canners, $34-$39; and low yielding fat cows, $53-$64.

Packer bulls - Yield grade 1 and 2, good heavy bulls, $71-$79; light weights and medium quality bulls, $61-$68. Stocker cows, $425-$800. Pairs, $725-$950.

Compared to last week: Better quality classes of calves and yearlings sold $4 to $10 higher. Demand extremely good in all areas.

Packer cows and bulls sold $2 to $3 higher on approximately 290 hd total.
