Victoria police detained three youths after a foot chase in the 800 block of East North Street on Friday.
About 6:45 p.m., patrol officers Bryan Knief and Justin Schubert were going to the City Service Center when they saw four youths carrying a road barricade on the street, said Victoria Police Lt. Michael Tatum.
Knief and Schubert turned around to stop the youths to question them, but they ran.
After about a 30-yard chase, the officers caught three of the youths, who were about 11 years old. One was already on juvenile probation, Tatum said. The fourth one got away.
The youths had taken the barricade from near where they were seen carrying it. Because they had caused no damage, the officers released them to their parents, Tatum said.
