Nazareth Academy had the two top district winners in the VFW sponsored Patriots Pen Essay Contest. Eighth-grader Bailey Houck placed first in District and fifth in State. Eighth-grader Lauren McCaskill placed second in District. The contest's theme this year was "Are you proud of your country?"
