Georgia man remains hospitalized after Wednesday crash
A Georgia man remained hospitalized Thursday after a truck he was in rolled off US. 59 Wednesday night.
Two others were released from Citizens Medical Center on Thursday morning.
Cervando Soto, 46, of Jonesboro, Ga., drifted off U.S. Highway 59 North from the right hand lane and rolled his vehicle about 8:40 p.m., said Victoria police senior patrol officer James Collins.
Soto and his two passengers, Soledad Zavala, 45, and Veronica Soto, 43, also of Jonesboro, Ga., were transported to Citizens Medical Center. Zavala and Veronica Soto were released from the hospital early Thursday, a hospital spokesperson said.
Cervando Soto was transferred to University Hospital in San Antonio, where a hospital spokesperson said he was in stable condition.
The three had been taking turns driving since 5 a.m. Wednesday on their trek from Georgia to Mexico, Collins said.
