John Packard, manager of generation at South Texas Electric Cooperative, recently spoke at the POWER-GEN International 2011 conference program in Las Vegas. Packard's presentation focused on the industry trends and competitive power generation.
Packard joined South Texas Electric Cooperative, Inc. in 1997 as plant engineer at the Sam Rayburn Power Plant in Nursery. He became plant manager of the Sam Rayburn Power Plant in 1999 and was promoted to manager of generation in 2005. He received a bachelor of science degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Texas in 1996 and a master of business administration degree from the University of Houston-Victoria in 2002.
