What Invista officials thought was a "potential incident" Wednesday afternoon, turned out to be a non-incident, according to Amy Hodges, the plant's public affairs manager.

Hodges said the incident, which occurred around 5 p.m., was thought to be a fire, but it turned out not to be.

She said there was an "abundance of caution" to address the non-incident, and personnel "activated procedures" to make sure all was well.

The plant is continuing to maintain safe operations and is functioning as usual, Hodges said.

Hodges added that Invista officials were keeping an eye on the weather situation and will continue to operate.
