Victoria plans mostly business as usual

The city of Victoria plans to pick up garbage on Friday, and city offices will be open part of the day, according to plans released Thursday afternoon.
City offices will be open from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Garbage scheduled for pickup Friday will begin at 10 a.m., three hours later than usual. Any automated carts that are not picked up Friday will be picked up on Saturday, according to a news release.
Riverside Park, which closed at noon Thursday, will re-open at noon Friday and must be entered from Red River Street.
The Victoria Library also is scheduled to open Friday from noon to 5 p.m.
Victoria Transit stopped running at 5 p.m. Thursday, and the weather will dictate Friday and Saturday operating schedules, said Lisa Cortinas, director of transportation services.
County offices also closed early Thursday and will open from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday with the exception of the tax office which will remain closed on Friday.
