BLOOMINGTON- A man who was struck by a moving train in Bloomington Friday night has been identified.
Paul Canales Jr., 46, was seen pushing his bicycle around the crossing arms as the train passed through Bloomington at the intersection of state Highway 185 at 10 p.m., said Victoria Sheriff's Capt. Herb Tucker.
Several witnesses saw Canales ignore the train despite the train's sounding horn, Tucker said, citing the sheriff's report.
Canales was transported to Citizens Medical Center and then airlifted to a San Antonio Hospital in critical condition, Tucker said. The captain did not know which hospital Canales was in.
Canales' latest condition Monday night was unknown.
