Four-car collision sends three to hospital

Victoria Police Department Officers investigate a wreck at the intersection of Mockingbird Lane and Sam Houston Drive Tuesday night. At least three people were taken to the hospital in the four-car collision.

At least three people were taken to the hospital in a four-car wreck at the intersection of East Mockingbird Lane and Sam Houston Drive about 7 p.m. Tuesday.

A GM Cadillac ran a red light headed southbound on Sam Houston Drive, striking a Lexus G350 that was eastbound on Mockingbird Lane, said Officer Luke Thompson, with the Victoria Police Department.

The driver of the Cadillac then veered into Sam Houston's northbound lane, striking a Nissan Versa head-on. The Versa was propelled backward into a Chevrolet Caprice Classicand came to a rest near a wooden fence, Thompson said.

At least one passenger in each vehicle was taken to Citizens Hospital, Thompson said.

Names were not immediately available Tuesday night.
