Editor, the Advocate:

It is a shame that some fine local people do not get the financial support they need to help them do a wonderful thing for our wounded and disabled troops in San Antonio at Brooke Army Medical Center.

They put on a great day of cowboy food and entertainment and family Christian fellowship. Yes, it is held in another city, but it is organized right here in Victoria and Goliad by a fine group called Chuckwagons for Christ. This will be their sixth year of giving back to our wounded. The fly in the buttermilk is they need money. They are a 501(c)(3) tax entity. For more info, contact the wagon boss (Aubrey Lenamon) at 361-645-3307.

If your club or company would like, they would be more than happy to make a presentation to them. The event this year will be held April 2. Please help these cowboys and cowgirls - bring a day of joy and fun to our special needs soldiers. Thanks.
