  • Go into any elementary school and observe these beautiful and happy children. Revisit these kids 10 or 15 years later ask yourself what happened when they look like Guerra. This guy is responsible for his actions and will pay for the rest of his life. But, what are we doing for these children?

  • I will never understand what possesses(spelling?) one to place tattoos on one's body in such a manner that an individual would find it hard to find a good job. Walmart greeter? Professional? Business person?

  • I'm sorry but this guy choose to end someones elses life deliberately....that was NOT his choice to make...it also happens to NOT be a "mistake"...it was deliberate........it was done with forethought, it was planned & it happened ergo NOT a MISTAKE. It scares me that people think these "choices" & "mistakes" are okay as they are NOT.

  • It's not LUCK that has kept me from his fate, it would be my conscience, my sense of right & wrong, my self control, my morals...all of which seem to be lacking in people who believe luck has anything to do with them becoming murderers or not.

  • Its truely sad how people get on here and put in there opinions on issues that theydont get all of the information. Yes that is what this blog is about but its just sad. Stop critizing others choices and worry about your own.
One commentor states scripture from the bible... well the bible also states that you will be judged by the same measures that you judge others.
God views sin as sin...so becareful how you judge others... we are all sinners...
Lets take our thoughts and turn them into prayers for ALL involved. God said "let my people pray"

  • Familyman...I have to disagree with you while agreeing with you. I believe the death penalty is indeed appropriate punishment for certain crimes and can't disgree with you that a twenty-eight cent bullet would be more cost effective than what we do now.

However, I do not believe the death penalty is a deterrant to crime. These thugs never give any thought to what might happen thirty minutes from now, much less twelve years. They're much like rattlesnakes in that they simply react to the situation at hand without thought or care about the consequenses of their actions. They don't care that they cause heartache and grief to the families of their victims OR to their own families. There is no redeeming them; they are broken in some important, basic part of their being and cannot be fixed. If society is not prepared to execute them, then society must be willing to pay the price of keeping them locked up forever.

  • PEOPLE MAKE MISTAKES...some make big and others make small. We are all lucky to not have made one big, like this! Its true, he had a hard childhood that continued til now. It doesnt make it right to do what he did though. I know him personally he is not a cold blooded killer! He is caring and sweet and just happened to make a wrong choice a big one. He loved his mother soo much and all he ever wanted was the love back. The only people that would give him the sense of LOVE was that gang.

  • A $400.00 abortion could have saved a lot of money and lives.

  • Instead of spending $60,000 -$100,000 per year on this scum just use the old snipers addage of "One shot, One Kill". Do this publicly so that the population can see for them selves the grim outcome of the crimes they commit. If you kill then you shall be killed. From the bible comes the saying "An eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth." I think public hangings should be brought back and the firing squad should also be brought back to the public eye. Let them see the outcome of their actions. I think that will be a better deturent to the crime wave. Now the crooks know they will be out due to over crowding so they don't care. If they know they WILL die due to their actions they most likely will not commit that action. No exceptions within reason, if you kill on purpose you will die on purpose.

  • And, Robert, The quicker the better. Unfortunately, this POS will live through 2011 and continue to be a drain on the taxpayer for the next 40 plus years.

Yeh, I know you were being a smarta$$. Save it for someone who has tolerance for this type of bs.

Si, Ama, BGF, and El Pendejos De Pistolas. Take responsiblity. Be adults. Quit feeding on yourselves. You are the means to your own destruction.

  • Many tragedies involved in this case.

19 year old losses his liberty for life.
2 year old grows up without a father.
Girl friend looses loved one and the father of her child.
Our society foots the bill to bring ths case to justice.
But the biggest tragedy in my opinion is a 21 year old senselessly looses his life and leaves behind many loved ones.

Sadly, most of the family members of those affected will harbor anger and hatred when it would be better for all involved to do whatever possible to prevent this from happening to other loved ones. How about creating an organized effort by Hispanic/Anglo/African American citizens to join law enforcement agencies in an all out war against these despicable gangs that are gaining strength year after year.
