Why are you proud to be black?
All the hard times and heartaches that African-Americans have been through makes me proud to be black. It makes me see myself as a young African-American striving to do well for my community, and pushing for strong goals in life. I realize we can be the most outstanding minority if we stay strong.
Why is it important to recognize Black History?
To keep the dream alive and realize the true facts about where black people have come from. You have to know all the history they have been through.
Who are your role models?
Martin Luther King, Jr. because he makes me not only see myself as black, but as an African-American who is proud of her background and willing to do almost anything to keep improving and making a difference.
