Filmmakers will be roaming the halls of Yorktown Memorial Hospital this weekend filming scenes for the upcoming movie "Yorktown."

Michael Felts, of Angry Otter Productions, said the movie is a "'70s style slasher/horror film that takes place in Yorktown. It's about a group of friends who hear about Yorktown Memorial Hospital and decide to take a road trip to the haunted location and investigate.

"What they don't realize is that someone has taken up residence in the building, and they begin to kill them off one-by-one."

The film's trailer carries the tag line, "It's not just ghosts that make you scream."

Some scenes for the film have already been shot in San Antonio.

The movie will premier on May 11 at the Santikos Palladium Theater in San Antonio and will be released in the fall.

Television has also taken an interest in the reportedly haunted Yorktown Memorial Hospital.

In late January, a crew from the Travel Channel show "Ghost Adventures" filmed at the hospital, said building owner Phil Ross.

"They said they got enough evidence for three shows, but they will have to put in all into one," Ross said.

Ross did not know when the episode might air and Travel Channel did not respond to inquiries from the Advocate.

In September, the city of Yorktown cited the hospital for code violations and told Ross to discontinue ghost hunts at the facility.
