Checking the undercarriage for obstructions, Victoria firefighters respond to a call that a car drove through Uncle Mutt's Bar-B-Que late Tuesday afternoon.

No one was injured after a car crashed into the entrance of Uncle Mutt's Bar-B-Q Co. about 4 p.m. Tuesday.

A 57-year-old Victoria woman failed to come to a complete stop and ran a Toyota Camry into the glass and brick entrance of the restaurant at 5404 N. Navarro St., said Victoria Police Department Officer Greg Loter.

The woman and her 6-year-old grandson were wearing seatbelts and were uninjured.

A city building inspector examined the building and determined it received no structural damage, Loter said.

Manager Debbie Nichols, along with several employees, were in the building at the time of the crash.

"It was a big bang, and the building shook," Nichols said. "Everybody's OK, and that's all that matters."

Nichols said the restaurant closed for the rest of Tuesday to allow time to clean and board up the entrance, but it will reopen at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday.
