People wishing to purchase scenes for the 2011 Cuero Christmas in the Park can order them now at a discounted rate, according to a news release.
The December Events Committee, sponsors of the annual holiday display, is taking orders for scenes. Depending on the type of scene ordered, the deadlines are Monday or March 10. Monetary donations are also welcome.
The 11th year of Christmas in the Park was the most successful ever as 20,600 vehicles made the drive through the park. An estimated 75,000 people viewed the scenes, said Mary Polansky, publicity chairwoman.
Visitors came from Victoria, Corpus, San Antonio, Austin, Houston and everywhere in between, and out of state, Polansky added.
"Many visitors told us that Christmas in the Park has become a tradition for their family. Even though the line was long at times, no one complained, and most sang, laughed and even shed some tears as they came by the donation booth and very generously donated to our group," Polansky said.
All donations are used for scenes, infrastructure and repairs and all work is done on a volunteer basis.
Christmas in the Park opens the Monday before Thanksgiving and runs through New Year's night.
