Why are you proud to be black?
Well, why is anyone proud of who they are? As for me, I am proud to be black because this is how Almighty God made me. This is a hard question because I know everyone will honestly say they have at one time or another thought, "What if I could change who I am?" However,From Harriet Tubman with her underground railroad, to Martin Luther King with his quest for equality through the voters registration drive and work toward affirmative action in the job market. "I am proud of the contributions that my forefathers have made to this United States of America, even though they had to fight to be recognized for their contribution. I believe that blacks in America have shown great ability to overcome adversity."
Why is it important to celebrate black history month?
"While I believe it is important to recognize black history, as any history, people need to know that no one race is responsible for all things. Also young blacks need to know that as their ancestors played an important part in America's history, so can they."
Who is your role model?
In closing, please allow me to say black, white, Mexican and others are all our Heavenly Father's children.and I believe that God, as He shows in the Word, wants us to remember the past in such a way that it inspires us to be better in the future."I guess my most admired black historian is Harriet Tubman. She had more than just a racial barrier to overcome - she had to overcome being a woman in a man's world."
