A 77-year-old Victoria man sustained minor injuries in a wreck involving a motorcycle and car at the intersection of East Red River and Louis streets about 9:15 p.m. Thursday.

A 36-year-old man was southbound on Louis Street, attempted to turn left on Red River Street and failed to notice a westbound motorcycle, said Victoria Police Department Officer D. Brogger.

The 77-year-old motorcyclist laid down his bike to avoid hitting the car and sustained scrapes and bruises.

He was wearing a helmet.

No citations were issued and no one was transported to the hospital.
