Cuero graduate and former Texas A&M center Cody Wallace signed a free agent contract with the Houston Texans on Monday.
Wallace spent eight weeks on the Texans practice squad this season. He was selected by the San Francisco 49ers in the fourth round of the 2009 draft.
Wallace was waived by the 49ers before this season and spent three weeks with the Detroit Lions before signing with the Texans.
"This gives me a chance to do all the things I need to do to get ready for next season," Wallace said. "I'll be able to go through a full offseason program with the team."
