Ashtin's Wildlife Studio and Taxidermy Service in Shiner, owned by Charlie Stein, has been in business for eight years. Before establishing the business in Shiner, Stein used to work in another studio in Houston. Currently, the studio finishes five mounts a day, depending on the time of the year, with the busiest being between November and January. A basic deer mount can cost about $450 and could take from six months to a year for the final product to be ready.
