  • A global activist movement started by Ensler to stop violence against women and girls. I don't understand how you can relate,... by people using the word more freely/openly or as Jui Mhartestates, states, "But now, saying it makes me happy" will deter violence against women and girls.

  • "We're opening it up"...I thought that line needed the "no pun intended" phrase...it cracked me up!

  • The play about women's vaginas is ballsy???? I think we may be mixing metaphores here.

  • EdithAnn - according to the VicAd, Aprill and her hubby are on the way out (although, apparently Aprill will still be a guest columnist for the VicAd), so it probably doesn't matter what level of trash she sinks to now, she can get away with it with no repercussions.

  • There's a national Vagina Day? God bless America! I hope there is a parade or something where they will be on display.

BTW, If women really LOVED talking about their vaginas, they would have a lot more men listening.........NFL TV ratings might even go down!

  • I had the pleasure of watching Gillian Anderson (she of The X-Files fame) perform one of the monologues in London years ago - I would encourage all to go.

Call me when Puppetry of the Penis (Google it) finally comes to Victoria.

  • So if it "isn't just for shock value", does that mean it is for some shock value?

  • This is a very tastefully done play and I encourage folks to attend this event.

"But doing the play isn't just for shock value. The performances on Feb. 11 and 12 are tied to V-Day, a global activist movement started by Ensler to stop violence against women and girls."

Aprill Brandon kind of devalued that effort when she used the word 'poontang' in her 'humor' column.
