Edna resident Gerri Anderson won $35,000 in the Texas lottery in recent weeks from the scratch-off game "Bonus Word Crossword."
Anderson, a "regular" lottery player of five years, according to a news release from The Texas Lottery Commission, purchased the winning lottery game for $3 at the Handi Kwik Food Mart in Edna.
Crossword was issued in March, and offers 48 top prizes of $35,000. Twenty top prizes remained unclaimed, Texas Lottery Commission Executive Director Gary Grief said in the news release.
Anderson was presented with a $35,000 check on Dec. 23.
