A cold front that pushed its way through South Texas Thursday brought a sudden temperature drop in the Crossroads area.

Victoria's temperature was 61 - the day's high - at noon but, within an hour, fell to 51, said Christina Barron, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Corpus Christi.

Temperatures continued to drop throughout the afternoon and, by 3:30 p.m., hit 48.

"We'll see a gradual warm-up through the weekend, but we're still looking at overnight lows within the 30s," Barron said.
