HONOLULU (AP) - Enrollment at the University of Hawaii's West Oahu campus jumped nearly 10 percent to more than 1,400 students this spring semester compared to the spring of last year.
Administrators say students are interested in the school's early childhood education, business, and health care administration programs.
UH West Oahu Chancellor Gene Awakuni said Wednesday the school's classroom capacity will expand when its new campus opens in Kapolei next year.
Enrollment in the University of Hawaii system overall rose 1.7 percent from last spring to an all-time high of 56,716 students.
Enrollment grew faster at West Oahu than at any other campus.
