Wreck sends two to hospital

A two-car wreck at the entrance to the Victoria Mall and Zac Lentz Parkway on  Friday afternoon injured two people.

A 40-year-old Victoria man and a 4-year-old girl were taken to the hospital after a wreck at the intersection of John Stockbauer Drive and Zac Lentz Parkway about 1 p.m. Friday.

The man was driving a Chevrolet Venture van west on John Stockbauer Drive when the driver of a Toyota Avalon ran a red light heading south on the frontage road, said Officer Herschel Buck, with the Victoria Police Department.

The man and girl were taken to Citizens Medical Center with what appeared to be minor injuries, Buck said.

The driver of the Toyota, a 40-year-old Victoria man, was cited for running a red light.

All passengers, including two other children and three other adults in the van, were wearing their seatbelts.
